History & Archives
March 2008
Our family finished training at the
Missions Learning Center and began
preparing for our journey overseas to
Lilongwe, Malawi, AFRICA
April 2008
Departed for Malawi where we met our
new missionary and international
friends.  We bought necessary
supplies and prepared for our next
level of training - 40/40 in Zambia -
which prepares new missionaries for
living and ministering in Africa.
May 2008
Saw God at work in many ways during
40/40 training.  Many Zambians came
to know Christ as we visited and
shared with people in the cities and
villages.  Jill struggled with illness
(thought to be malaria) but recovered
fully after about a week. Thanks for the
prayers!
June 2008
Arrived back in Lilongwe and prepared
for the next level of training - SA
training (Strategy Training) in South
Africa.
July 2008
SL  Training in South Africa for 3
weeks.  COLD WEATHER!  We
learned a lot and got to play with lion
cubs!  Did evangelism in Soweto.  Tim
became ill and was taken to the ER
with chest pains.  His blood pressure
was significantly elevated.  Doctors
found that he was having a reaction to
his malaria medication.  After a week of
being off the meds, his blood pressure
stabilized and soon felt "back to
normal."  Returned to Lilongwe and
moved into our house.
October 2008
Received our crate from America.  5 churches in
America commited to be prayer partners.  Attended
prayer retreat at Lake Malawi with our mission
cluster team.  Continued ministry in Ntchinsapo.  Jill
is doing better at driving a manual transmission car!

November 2008
Moved our evangelism efforts to a market in
Lilongwe.  24 people attended first Bible study.
Many requested prayer for health and family.
Shared Thanksgiving Dinner with our mission family.
Handed out soccer balls to families and churches in
Lilongwe, thanks to Ghent Baptist in KY!
August 2008
Began full-time language and FINALLY received our
TEP (work visa).

September 2008
Zac and Will started school at ABC Christian
Academy.  We began evangelism in Ntchinsapo
village in Lilongwe which led to a cell group.  16
people in attendance.  Several have come to know
Christ already.
Enjoyed good health throughout the month!
December 2008
Enjoyed our first Christmas overseas.  Even
though our gifts from America did not arrive
until January, we are able to focus on the
real reason for Christmas and enjoy our
time together with an "all day game day."
Returned to Ntchinsapo village to pass out
candy to the children (thanks to Post Oak
Baptist in Russellville, KY).  Zac flew alone
to South Africa to go to MK Youth camp.
Made a new Hindu friend.  Pray that she will
come to know Jesus!
January 2009
As we have continued language
study, we have often asked for
prayers regarding our work in this
area.  In January, we took a mock
proficiency exam in Chichewa and
scored at a level 2.  PRAISE GOD.
We know that it is only through His
grace and power that we are
learning to speak and understand
this language.  Pray that the
learning continues and that we will
do as well (or better) in March
when we take the real thing!
Zac and Will enjoyed a nice
summer holiday after Christmas!
